People across Eastern Europe are ready to support governments in combating shadow economy

Mastercard announced today the results of a new opinion poll on the public’s awareness and attitudes towards the shadow economy conducted in 10 countries of Central and Eastern Europe, and it showed, among other things, that more than 80% of respondents are opposed to the shadow economy. 74% of Serbian citizens agree that the more shadow economy, the less possibilities for the state to provide public services for citizens, while 80% realize that it is limiting the economy growth of the country. Serbian data also indicates that the national prize game with fiscal receipts and card slips which was organized in March 2017 has had quite wide publicity as 40% of respondents have declared to have been encouraged to take receipts more often than they used to.
