Energy Transition in Practice – How MOL is Building a Sustainable Future
One of the most remarkable steps in decarbonization is the development of green hydrogen: MOL has built the largest green hydrogen production facility to date in Central and Eastern Europe at its refinery in Százhalombatta, Hungary.

Today, sustainability is no longer a matter of choice but a strategic commitment for companies that aim to remain competitive and relevant in the long term. MOL Group has clearly defined this through its long-term SHAPE TOMORROW strategy, which charts the path toward a low-carbon and circular economy, with the ambition to become carbon neutral by 2050. At the heart of this transformation is an investment of $1.4 billion in sustainable projects by 2030, demonstrating that the company views the energy transition not only as a developmental opportunity but also as a long-term investment in business stability.
