Ericsson leads build of Algerian vessel traffic management and information system

Ericsson and a consortium of leading companies will build the Algerian Vessel Traffic Management and Information System (VTMIS), including control centers at 11 local ports, 3 regional ports and one national port, across the Algerian coastline.
The Algerian VTMIS aims to improve the safety and security of maritime traffic to, from and within Algerian ports by tracking vessels and facilitating movements, as well as by providing early warnings of potential collisions, groundings, prevention of pollution from ships and other marine environmental issues.
