Ericsson welcomes girls from Lapovo elementary school

On the occasion of Girls in ICT Day organized by the Directorate for Digital Agenda of the Republic of Serbia, Ericsson welcomed eight-grade girls from elementary school in Lapovo and presented the position of women in ICT. Female Service Engineers of Ericsson, three young and successful ladies talked about their university and work experiences, about needed support from family and environment and encouraged the girls to pursue their dreams and visions. Later on the awards were presented to the girls who won the competition organized by the Digital Agenda, including two Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro phones, and at the evening party Ericsson presented an award to the best female student selected by a dedicated jury. At the evening event Ericsson employees had the opportunity to talk to the students and exchange their professional views on work in ICT. During this day girls all over the world visited companies, universities and research centres and had the opportunity to talk to successful women in ICT. International Girls Day in ICT is organized also as a career dating occasion for technology female students in order to encourage and motivate them in pursue of ICT career.
