Internet revolution in Serbia

Chapter 4 team has attended the premiere presentation of the research results "Serbia 2.0 - Internet Revolution 2011-12." which was carried out in April this year by the Internet Devellopment Center.
The results show that in this year, majority of the Serbian population online is of age 25-29 (24.1%), then those 18-24 (22,4%), while the elderly population is less active. Nearly one half of the survey participants used Internet more than five hours a day (47%), while the percentage last year was 41.5%.
27.4 percent of the population spends 3-5 hours a day on the Internet (22.1% spends up to 3 hours). There are 50% of the population which agrees that the internet devlopment needs to be the priority of the government, and that is an increase of 8% compared to 2011.
Approximately 64% of the Serbian citizens have used Internet for some form of transaction - purchase, sale or e-business (while this option had been used less last year - 58.3%).It is interesting to say that 73.3% of the participants would actually vote for the Internet movement had there been one on the elections. The research results are avaialble on the following link www.digitalnaagenda.gov.rs/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/Internet-Revolucija-Srbija-2.0.pdf
