Study reveals incomplete control over hygiene of work clothing in the food industry
A recent European study points to a significant gap between prescribed hygiene standards and actual practices in the food industry, particularly when it comes to the use, washing, and maintenance of work clothing. The study suggests that this segment—often neglected, overlooked, or treated as routine—may represent one of the hidden sources of risk to food safety. 

The research, conducted by Norstat on behalf of textile service provider Lindström, included 940 users of workwear in the food industry across 11 European countries. The results clearly indicate that hygiene practices are not always consistently standardized in daily operations, leaving room for potential risks within the food production chain.
